Bridgend Recreation Centre


Directions: Bridgend Recreation Centre is located just 2 miles off junction 36. Follow the signs for Bridgend continue under the railway bridge and turn left at the roundabout then left at the traffic lights. The recreation centre is opposite the fire station.


Car Parking: There is ample pay and display car parking available. Car parking is free after 6pm and on Sunday’s.


Disabled Access: The building has lift access to all levels, a sloping entrance to the leisure pool and disabled changing and toilet facilities. (Please note: there are no separate disabled shower facilities).


No Limits Fitness Suite: A fully air-conditioned fitness suite featuring the latest in cardiovascular and resistance equipment plus a wide range of free weights. An induction is necessary for all new members


Indoor Leisure Pool: Ideal swimming and fun bathing pool, with a fast moving flume slide, a wave machine and a gentle beaching area with baby elephant slide. As well as public sessions, there is a range of swimming classes, fitness classes and adult only sessions available.


Health Suite: Includes Turkish steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Senses Health and Beauty Studio which can be found in the health suite, offer an extensive package to pamper and relax. A full range of stress-busting treatments include reiki, Indian head massages, body massages and reflexology are available.


Fitness Classes: The centre provides an assortment of fitness classes to suit all abilities.


Lockers: There is a returnable fee for both dry and pool side lockers.


Clubs: A wide variety of clubs are based at the centre. Contact reception for details on 01656 657491


Sports Courts: A full size, divisible sports hall which can be hired for basketball, badminton, short tennis, table tennis, roller hockey, five-a-side football, netball or squash. To book a court please call reception on 01656 657491.


Creche: This facility is available for pre-school children. Leave your children in the safe hands of our experienced staff while you use the facilities.


Children’s Parties: Let us take the strain out of organising your children’s parties. We provide facilities and catering as well as cleaning up afterwards.


Planet Play: A fantastic two tier soft play facility suitable for children from toddler’s to 11 years. (Height restriction of 1.45m applies). The children will love the moon walk, aerial runway, ball pool, zigzag climb and lots more. There is also a separate toddler’s zone and refreshments area for parents and supervisors.

The Sports Lounge Bar: The lounge provides customers with an environment to relax and unwind after a days sporting activities. It has a full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and serves home cooked meals during weekday afternoons.


The Waterfront : A fully air conditioned facility overlooking the leisure pool. There is a wide selection of healthy eating options and snacks available.


Special Occasions: The Dunraven Suite is an excellent venue for wedding receptions , parties, presentation evenings dinner dances and other special occasions.


Conferences, Exhibitions & Meetings: Our excellent facililties range from small meeting rooms to a multi-functional large area with the capacity to accommodate conferences or exhibitions for up to 1,200 people.


Concerts / Theatre: From Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals to Wales’ national theatre company Clwyd Theatr Cymru, we are rapidly becoming one of South Wales premiere performance venues.
