I am currently involved in the running of a Bridgend based badminton team. A friend has told me about the Community Chest scheme. Am I eligible and if so how do I apply?
Community Chest is a Sports Council Wales grant-aid scheme funded by the National Lottery.
* Organisations must hold a bank or building society account. * Organisations must have an acceptable constitution or set of rules. * Grants must be additional to existing or normally funded services. * Sports clubs that return to Community Chest for a second or subsequent award must be affiliated to the governing body of their sport and be working towards club models or accreditation schemes where they exist.
My son is interested in taking up a team sport. How can I check that a club or coach is suitably trained and responsible for me to allow him to attend?
You could begin by checking that a club is affiliated to a relevant national governing body. You could also request information from the club on coaching qualifications, C.R.B. checks and current child protection procedure within the organisation. |
