Are you looking for information about disability sport as a parent / guardian, or because you want to become a coach or volunteer?

 

This information gives an overview of sporting opportunities in the Bridgend County Borough.

 

Here you will find information regarding Disability Sports Cymru and Bridgend’s Sports Development Unit, plus a general summary of different initiatives such as “Volunteering Counts” and “Activate”. You will also find details regarding Coach education, funding opportunities and the Disability Sport Forum in Bridgend e.g. visual impairment etc,

In Bridgend County Borough there are several clubs, providing sporting opportunities for people with a disability. These range from mainstream clubs offering inclusive sessions, to clubs catering specifically for people with disabilities and even some disability specific sport clubs.

This is a mainstream club for both

juniors and Seniors. The training will be inclusive. Badminton is one of the fastest growing sports for the disabled. Participants with a disability should be able to take part in the mainstream session.

This is a regional club for people with a physical disability. Specifically aimed at wheelchair users with CP, muscular dystrophy, tetraplegic. The club aims to participate in competitive structures for these disability classes at all levels.
